The Maison Carre in Nimes, show below, is one of the best preserved Roman temples. The Temple of Fortuna Augusta in Pompeii (mentioned in A. D. 62: Pompeii) would have been similar in style but much smaller.
Below is a typical "fast food" counter, or thermopolium, in Pompeii; the wells set in to the counters might have contained soup, stew, or wine. Most residents of Pompeii lived in single rooms without cooking facilities, and so most of their meals would have been take-out from establishments similar to this one.
